F-Gas is the term used to describe fluorinated gasses. Legislation has been put in place to control emissions from fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases), including hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). The EU’s F-gas emissions will be cut by two-thirds by 2030 compared with 2014 levels.
Operators must keep records of their plant and any leaks from and additions to their air conditioning plants. At the end of the equipment life, a record of the refrigerant extracted must be made. The names and details of operatives and companies carrying out the work must also be recorded. Records must also be kept by installation and service companies of all movements (in and out) of F-gas refrigerants used / handled / disposed of.
This can only be done by fully qualified and certified refrigeration personnel. Under the regulation all installed systems have to have a permanent, indelible label showing the type of F-gas and the total quantity by weight installed in the circuit. We will advise you on your required service schedule based on the volume of refrigerant.
